This month has been full of faith and surprises. A few weeks ago, my husband I made an offer on a home and sadly, our offer was number two out of the five submitted. After having the blues for about 36 hours, we continued to pray. I just knew in my heart, that this home was our’s. I printed the MLS and wrote a note along the top of the page and carried in my pocket. There is more to the story, but this experience, reminded me of  the time I harvested my first “large” buck. The bible verse that is true to heart is in the book of Matthew. I wrote this diary entry back in 2015. I remember the day vividly, I missed a shot on a doe on the very last day of the season, and not even one hour later, God gave me the opportunity to harvest the season’s big buck…. I named him Matthew….

Matthew 7:7

7“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

“Do you want to see Matthew?” I asked my Uncle.

“I’d love to.” Says Uncle Syd.

“Man you’ll have to get up and go see him; he’s not gonna walk in here; he’s up on the wall” says My Dad…..

Feels good to be back in the woods again. I absolutely love hunting with my dad; I love the bond and the quality time behind it, and the memories that will come and that have been made last season.

Sitting here in the deer stand, I feel blessed and I have a huge sense of gratitude for being here in this moment. Feeling the wind blow cool air around my face, feeling the coolness between my strands, hitting the skin on my head.

I’m here in peace. My heart is sore, yet calm, after my intense spin cycle training earlier this morning, yet it beats patiently before the “buck fever” pounding that awaits when I finally see my first deer of the 2014-2015 hunting season.

I’m beyond elated. I’m quiet and ready. Let the games begin.
